You have to remember I live in a country where even the police aren't armed, except with cahonies, except for Armed Response units (whose standard weapons, you may be interested, are the semi-automatic Glock 17 pistol, the Smith & Wesson .38 Model 10 revolver and the Heckler & Koch MP5 sub-machine gun).
The only firearm I've used is a shotgun, clay pigeon shooting, and I don't think I've ever HEFTED a gun, never mind fired one!
Since Dumblane it's been illegal to own even a .22 pistol. It's really SO alien to "listen" to you guys discussing the merits of this gun or other - just never heard of in this country (except maybe the drugs gangs, yardies, etc.)
OTOH, I always fancied Dirty Harry's Magnum, although an automatic holds more rounds and, so, would seems the more sensible. :-)
