Quickbooks does in fact offer multi-user at Pro and up.

But that's not the point. Take this example: we run complex Crystal reports off humongo views, which then can be used in a variety of way based on user input in a selection form. The selection form choices are used to drive a Select against the custom view data already selected (based on the major components of the selection form). This is quick, both for development (we get to re-use a complex view) and for runtime (because we're not slamming the backend -- which could be dbf's, or any c-s backend). Our alternatives would be to process it all on the backend (assuming that site is using c-s) or (gasp, go have a coffee) have Crystal do the work.

>What if you were running quickbooks, and you were given an option to store your data in one centralized data store? In my opinion organizations would jump all over that. Why? Security, centralization, and ease. If they were never given that option, they have no idea what they are missing.
