Besides, this makes an interesting point of activating a tool via clicking on it; don't think I'm a pervert, but I'm just curious how the idea never crossed my mind. Also, "toolbar" now bears some other connotations, i.e. does it mean taking the tool to the bar, or the tools resemble a bar or whatever was the ergonomical metaphor which inspired the expression.
What I adore in English is its precision and inambiguity.
