Rodd,

I run your first code (not the one I am replying, but your very first one) and it worked as expected, if I put a wrong password, I get the message, right password, no message. I ran it in VFP 9 though.

[update]
I remembered I still have VFP 8 installed, so I run it in VFP 8 and it also work as expected, giving me an error for wrong passwords
