I have Windows XP. I've tried from command window:
mkdir('c:\My Dir with spaces')
COPY FILE c:\Words.cdx TO 'c:\My Dir with spaces\Words.cdx'
and it worked. Could it be that you don't have writting rights in the directory you're trying to copy?
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
