Title:
ADO vs. CursorAdapter
Up until now, I have made all of my remote SQL connections using views. I've been sucessful in learning how to create and modify them using the View/Designer. But, I now have a need to learn how to call MS SQL stored procedures so I've been doing some reading on the subject. I understand that I can call SP's using a view but I've read that ADO may be the better choice because it can recieve integer return values that the view cannot see. I assume these return values allow you to recieve an error code if the SP fails (correct ?). I have not found anything about having CursorAdapters call a SP. My questions are these:
1) Can a CursorAdapter call a SP like an ADO and can if recieve back a error code?
2) If so, what is the better choice between ADO & CA, if both can handle error codes?
3) In general, what is the differences between ADO's & CA's ... is one better than the other and for what reasons?
Thanks,
Robert
