Create two text objects, and use Print When statements to determine which one is visible. Format each one accordingly:
Text Object 1, formatted as Arial 10 Bold (and perhaps red color)
Print When youvariable<0

Text Object 2, formatted as Arial 10
Print When yourvariable>=0
Place the text objects on top of each other so they always print in the same position on the page.
