>Btw, I am also a newbie to UT, and I find it hard to operate the message area. I am a subscriber to more than 40 tech related forums, may be I am too much stuck with the almost universal standard UI of web forum...

(un)fortunately, UT is around for ten years, and didn't have the time to wait for standards to emerge. It created its own, mostly based on our input, as it went along.

>1) How do I get a list of all categories directly under "Visual FoxPro"?

When you start a new thread, it's in the second combo, below the forum combo. In the upper frame, probably no way, because it won't show categories with no new messages.

>2) In a thread started by me (like this one), how do I get email notification if A replies to someone else say B (not me)?

Don't know about email, but you can mark the thread to see if there are any new messages in it since your last login. There's the mark icon below the message, somewhere in the middle.

>3) Is a UTMag.com picture on the right top corner considered a advertisement banner? I have no way to get rid of it.

This one's really funny - even AdBlock seems unable to do that. The rest of the stuff goes away easily. I hope Michel won't tell anyone how he did it :).
