Yes, they are all variations on a theme. But the analogy I wanted to address was yours equating Iran attitude towards Israel and the US attitude towards Cuba. You "see little difference." I see the following difference.

The US wants to end the Communist regime in Cuba. If we can't do that we are NOT going to kill every Cuban Communist. Iran wants to end a Jewish state in Israel and WOULD (if they could) kill every Jewish Israeli in order to do so.
