Hi Mike
>How about a copy button? It takes the current record and it's children and grandchildren, copies them into a new cursor, puts your current form into add mode and appends all the data from the new cursor.
In a way yes and no. Actually this guy wants to start from an add mode, new record. I guess I can put in a copy button on the form which will then get the unique OIO No. and read the data into cursors.
>Then the user can alter the now copied record before saving it. All while keeping the UI they already know. Don't forget to blank out or generate new primary and candidate keys.
Okay. Is this all possible with least hardcoding. I don't want to put in field by field replace statements (except for the main fields) as the no. of fields will increase and decrease.
Thanks a lot for your response. I am sorry about my original explanation of the problem, which was I guess pretty ambiguos, but I am glad to say you were able to read it. Guess you have had to make a lot of support call to the call centers here in India *vbg*
