Thanks for the link. It took me on to:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms186243.aspx which will take a while to get my head around. This will probably be deployed on SQL2005 but I'm testing on SQ2000.

The SP I'm currently trying is in my message to Fabio but needs more testing....
