The CoDe article was written by Deborah Kurata. There were individual aspects of the article where I had a different opinion - but she's one of the best pure writers for the magazine, and I thought that was a great intro article.

If the statement was truly made that "you have to put your dataset creation code in the form", that's incorrect (as you stated). I have a separate project DLL for my typed DS.

And yes, partial classes help - though Bonnie Berent has often posted code on this forum for subclassing typed datasets in 1.1.
