That's a good point, but I don't think it's the problem. The keys are being incremented just like they're supposed to. But the append is not working right in the client table. If I do "view" and then "append mode", it lets me put one record in and no more. It also greys out the "append mode" in the menu. If I do "append blank" in the command window, it always makes it the first record. So if my index starts at 1, and I do 5 appends, at the end I will have one record in the table with a key of 5.
