I suppose Customer group is after Date one. If so:
Put a variable in report (nUniqCust) Inital value = 0, reset value based on Date, Calculation type - None

In OnExit Event on the Customer group footer put:
_vfp.SetVar([nUniqCust], nUniqCust = nUniqCust + 1)

then in Date Group footer print that variable.
