To aid you in your decision making process, you can make a dupe of that table (structure-wise... you will not need the 2 gigs of data), go in where you modify the structure of the table and go to the 'table' tab. The area on this tab that says Length is telling you the size of each record. You can make modifications to the structure & come back to this tab to see how you've effected the size of any given record.
