>As for the z-order, it still bugs the hell out of me, but we live with it as it's quite random, and Marcia's patch we used in the form Activate reduced the incidence to almost zero (but not quite).

5 or six years ago I worked with a young (lt 30), laid back (very) smart (very) "cute" guy - Darin (i think i wish I had his number). Anyway, he came from VB (and he was good - almost Samur) and had been working with VFP for a year (or so).

It's amazing what skilled developers virgin to VFP can do with it. Back then (VFP 6) we did not have verticle tabs on pageframes and his "module", depending on users discretion, needed to presents breakouts of certain elements on the GUI. He did this thing with containers and zorder - that respondeded to a mouse move on some verticle "tabs" and seamlessly (smooth!) switched between input controls mounted on several layers of a container object.

The best ideas come from people who don't know and don't care about paradigm - and [also - perhaps] not too jaded (or prejudiced) by a narrowly scoped or overly illustrious career!:-)
