Kills me that! There's a straight dual carriagway along the seafront here at Brighton-Hove. Central reserve, 2 lanes each way, only the seafront on your left, yet the 30 is strictly enforced with 2 cameras.

Yet you go on a windy country road and hit a 70 limit, at bends that you can't negotiate over, say, 40. Then you get a 70 limit sign, followed a 100 yds later by a 30 cos you're entering a village. Doesn't make sense

Haven't seen that. I heard that those flashing 30 - slow down signs are the most effic. at reducing speed. I guess it's because they "shame" you in front of all the other drivers.
