It was back in the '70s. It didn't used to be a big deal, especially if you didn't keep on running when the cops got on to you. (102 in a 55). But you're right, nowadays they frown heavily on that kind of activity. Actually, I think here in AZ, it's 20 over and they could throw you in the pokey. But if they did that for every case, the jails would be overflowing, just pick any freeway, when the traffic isn't bumper to bumper at rush hour. 20 over would get you run over if that's all you were doing.
