Frank, your arguments make sense IF a vfp-timer could possibly fire DURING this piece of code:
select [somefield] from [sometable] into [somecursor]
lnTally = _tally
However, again, Viv's code suggests that this is not the case. (Remember, I'm only discussing _tally and timers here.)
