Hi Fernando,

As far as I see, the MS Word document "Informe de Rendimentos
Financeiros.doc" was created as the mailMerge document, and with the data
source, "informe de rendimentos financeiros.xls".

Thus, when you open "Informe de Rendimentos Financeiros.doc", it is
altready connected to the Excel file. And then the Word refuses to
connect to already opened datasource (it is what I see if I run your
code while putting both files in the very same directory).

It is not quite clear to me, why do you need to connect again?
Do you wish to edit the data source?
Or you have the initial Word document like a form/template, and you wish
like in the MailMerge, connect to the datasource and to populate the
fields on the form? If so, please, send to me that initial form/template.
