I know at least one feature that does not work (at least for me) with Management Studio against a SQL 2000 db: the diagram.

>Absolutely! I use Management Studio for almost everything and all of our production databases are still 2000. The only thing I use Enterprise Manager for is editing DTS packages. I downloaded a plug-in for Management Studio to allow this and use it sometimes. So, really, you don't need EM for anything that I can think of. Some things are different in Management Studio, but I think pretty much everything is there.
