Obviously written by someone with anti-.net bias. I love it when people use gross generalities when defending a point: tests show, or the experts say. How about some links to these "tests"?.

Again we have apps running, not using web services, which are just as fast as our VFP apps. .Net access over a 100mb connections will always be faster than .Net over internet connections.
