Yes, now I would recommend it. Though I was ready to buy another but didn't find it on the shelf where I bought it 18+ months ago.

I say "now" because I was an early adopter and its drivers were less-than-good initially. In addition it has a limitation of a maximum of 2 systems connected for read/write at the same time AND read/write is only supported on Win2K and later. As far as I know read (only) is widely supported for an unlimited number of systems.

I have an external power supply for mine that was included. It had it's own backup software/methodology, but I just formatted the entire drive and do what I want with it. I store my VMware files on it, and it seems to work nicely for that. I am going to hopefully be getting a NAS for my home network... would you recommend the one you have?
