Best place I've ever lived (and I've lived in 12 states of the US and in Germany (my 2nd favorite place)). Only 3 hours to either Yellowstone or Glacier National parks. Six ski arear within a 2 hour drive. Awesome fly-fishing, rafting/canoeing.
We do get the odd -40F days in winter, but it keeps the place from being overrun by Californians! I heard that Californians that DO move to Montana typically stay about 18 months, just long enough to experience 1 winter.
>>In Montana its 75 on most major highways. Until a couple of years ago it was 'Reasonable and Prudent'. I've been lucky enough to live in the 2 states that basically did not have speed limits (Nevada and Montana) although both have limits now.
