Thanks for your reply. Did you happened to see the article on Multi-Threading in FoxPro Advisor a couple of months ago? Rick Strahl showed how to use .NET to create COM launcher. I tried that but I just couldn't understand it/get it to work as he described. Sounded like exactly what I needed, but it wouldn't work for me.

I was wondering if the thread you are referring to was something similar to that?

>vfp mtdlls will work really well from multi-threaded clients like iis or a C++ app. So, if you want this to happen primarily from vfp then you should look at another technique.
>There was a thread about doing background processing in VFP here a while back,with source code, using a COM server callback, timer, and firing events.
