>>>Hey, Mike,
>>>
>>>I mentioned in a prior post...that's actually one of the few scenes that really bothered me.
>>>
>>>Most of the time, the people who get whacked are just total degenerates anyway (like the old Wolfen movie). It's sort of an unwritten rule that they don't touch people outside the family. Shooting the waiter broke that rule.
>>>
>>>I know that Paulie provides some of the comic relief, but I'd still like to see him get whacked for his big mouth.
>>
>>The episode where Ralph killed the dancer at the bada bing almost put me off watching it. The whole episode had a very unpleasant feel and reminded you what sort of people they really are portraying. Having said that I will now avoid this thread as we won't get the new season till later in the year and I don't want any plot spoilers.

>Hey Nick,

>I won't spoil anything but you have hit the nail on the head. What makes this series so great is that the characters are so complex and unpredictable, not cutout TV characters. I have read quite a number of interviews with David Chase and what comes through is he has given years of thought to these characters and how they tick. I just found out the other day that Livia, Tony's mother from hell, was based on his own mother. There are layers on layers on layers. It is never preachy and even in the smallest scenes there is food for thought.

Tony seems like a nice guy in some epsiodes but if he really was my neighbour I'd move.
