Could be the print driver. I worked with both Microsoft and HP on a issue very similar to this. If I used a standard HP print driver found in Windows 95 all worked well. Using the latest driver for the printer (HP Deskject 670c) I got the failure over and over. HP finally admitted to the problem and purchased the printer back from us. I bought a Lexmark and am glad - it works faster and better.
