>I have just inherited an application with a large database that was setup with referenital-integrity using wizards.

>When I open the database in the database designer and try to access the Referential Integrity builder, I get a message that the builder cannot be run until I run "database cleanup". However, that option is disabled on the database menu. Can you tell me why?
>
>Also, the database will not validate - there is an error on one table that one or more indexes is missing from the DBC. That table is, of course, embedded in the RI of the database.

>I'd appreciate some suggestions on how best to proceed with untying this knot with as little negative impact as possible.

>TIA for your help!
You have to open the database exclusively.
1. type set exclusive on in the command window.
2. from the project manager highlight the database
3 open or reopen (close then open) it, then modify it
4. then you should see the options
