VFP has a quite predictable future: they're working on the next version now, as far as I know. Besides, it's not as if programs will stop working if MS ever does drop support for VFP...

I would say that it's supported on the DB level, as far as I know: you don't have to roll your own code. VFP supports referential integrity, where FP2.6 doesn't.
