Not sure what you mean by a full backup?
You need to make sure you backup the user database your interested in and also Master (holds all information regarding users, security and loads more), MSDB (holds any jobs, alerts DTS packages) and Model (the template database for all other database). Backing up these system database will ensure that you can restore the server correctly if anything goes wrong.
