>How do you do your queries? How do you do queries that are created on the fly? Passing a SQL statement to a SP? Now tell me what does SP buy you over SPT here ??

When designed properly, sql injection protection.

>Sure if you have a static transaction processing type of application where the number of updates are insignificant opposed the number of inserts, SPs could be your answer (e.g. banking), but IFAIC you have a very simplistic and ingnorant view on database development if you truly think that SPs are the solution to every database application.

He didn't say every. He said most. I love your arguments based on absolutes.

>With all respect your, mine, or anyones contribution to the fox community are irrelevant in making any conclusions. You have found a way to develop database .NET applications in a way that is convenient to you and maybe to a lot of other people, but that does not make you right in terms of others that go way beyong the simple payroll application types.

That's right, the people who are in the trenches actually doing the work, have no clue about which they are talking.

>My knowledge and experience in database development probably exceeds most of here on the forum, though I've choosen not to waste my time in doing conferences and writing articles.

LMAO. Waste your time! You waste a ton of time posting your drivel on this forum. BTW, don't break your arm trying to pat yourself on the back.

I do listen to other peoples experience, but do not take anything for granted from ANYONE. Whether you are named "Chris Date", "Joe Pescoe" or "Kevin Goff", you'll have to give me the absolute evidence and prove that your assesment makes sence in every circumstance.

Yep absolutes are the only way, knowing full well that no solution is perfect for every case.

>Claims, that many people have agreed with you and you have written half a dozen applications in .NET does not say me much except that those application could not be very complex, because I've been busy writing a very complex application for over 4 years along with a team of developpers.

Uh huh. Yep your name bring fear to those lowly database developers. My complex app is bigger than yours :P

>So please stop claiming authority based on your achievements, rather come with convincing arguments that applies to anyone.

Let's see. You have a heart condition and you have two alternatives. One guys selling a bottle of pills, with convincing arguments, scientifically backed that his pill and clear your arteries of cholesterol and heal you without expensive surgery. His study group was 300 people. On the other hand, you have a surgeon who has no convincing argument for you, except that he's gonna cut you open and repair the damage to your arteries.

In your world, you'd go to the pill hack. In mine, to the surgeon. The ability to argue minutae ad naseum doesn't make you an expert. It makes you a laughing stock and the butt of jokes. I'd rather take advice from someone who is actually doing it; someone who is altruistic enough to help other by publishing their experience; someone who has no ridiculous agenda nor anti-.net bias.
