In my case, I have other data to backup and I wanted to keep all the backups on the same tape session. I have another location that I backup the transaction log to another computer every 30 minutes. That way I am only at risk loosing data for 30 minutes if the server crashes. Of course, the best way is to purchase good backup software that can backup a running database.
