We are basically on document 2 now and looking at the pros/cons of changing the development tool for the app to meet the requirements of Document 1. The new features to be added can actually be added at this point using VFP and the current sourcecode or using dotnet when a rewrite is done. The rewrite is being considered for longterm maintenance and interoperability with other dotnet modules currently being developed separately now. My favourite systems are C/S done in VFP front-end and MSSQLServer Back-end + ASP.Net/C# for web end.
In this case we use advantages of both products.
