Sounds like Martin's idea is closer to the target. I was just shooting from the dark, so I can really hope that upgrading can help, but I am far from certain it would...
I don't know that aPrinters is doing internally, that's the problem. It may be checking printer drivers, then faulty drivers may cause these type of errors...
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
