I stick to 800x600.

I have access to a couple of websites for non-tech users (just like my clients), and the server logs say 800x600 is still prevalent enough I have to support it. I'd imagine the ceiling could be lifted for a bunch of tech-users, but then there are the vision-impaired you must account for.
