Perry, the real difference here is not necessarily how much influence religious fanatics have in our government and in shaping our laws (however I agree that that is a serious issue that needs to be addressed and nipped in the bud), but rather whether or not any human rights violations (e.g. DEATH) have ocurred here in this country because of that influence. Our laws have not changed to that point. We are getting dangerously close to losing individual freedoms but no one has been put to death yet because they are not a christian or belong to an orthodox religion and worship the Bible. In fact, often I think we are closer to removing religion entirely rather than forcing any specific religion down everyone's throat.
