I do alot of 1099 work, and I like not be 'attached' to an employer of I don't
need to be.

If you have benefits through your new employer, what reason is there to be part-time
for your old employer?

The only reason I could see for staying on part time is that it might be easier to go back
full time sometime later in the future.
