Just some thoughts:

Check to make sure the VFP runtimes arent corrupt. Maybe send them new versions or even get their versions and see if you can reproduce any of the problems.

It seems that you have more that one exe stopped working, maybe one can become corrupt but more than this would point to other issues.

Does it consistently occur across all machines on the network also on the sever?

Any recent maintenance\upgading of software hardware on the network? Any changes in user permissions, maybe try and run under Administrator?

You may have tried most of these already but just some quick suggestions.
