Christianity, and especially the in U.S., has a high number of clerics who are sick in their mind too. You've seen many of them named here in one thread or another.
And even the more sane and docile ones wouldn't, I truly believe, pass up the opportunity to wipe out a good sized part of their competitors. It's the most important part of their job, to spread/grow "the Word", after all. Increasing the overall percentage of Christians is the name of the game.
