Third Party dll causes problem with MM

Hello all
My Toolbox mysteriously dropped a Windows form control, mmPicker. I deleted the tab, added a new tab, selected items and made sure that the mmPicker control was checked. Twice.
After scratching around for a while, I remembered that I had installed a 3rd party dll yesterday, along with some sample .Net code. I uninstalled it and the samples. You guessed it; my mmPicker control was thereafter listed in the Toolbox.
The offending dll is for an SSH conection to a financial data vendor. It's probably not one that many people will use. However, I will likely need to use it.
My question is, how do I avoid this, and other yet to be discovered problems, caused by other vendor's dlls hosing MM .Net?
Thanks
Don Lowrey
