Versions des environnements
This is the kind of thing that I would look to be trying:
Run the application on the server. If it runs here but not on the workstation you know its not something to do with the application.
If the worst comes to the worst I would send a debug version of one of the exe's to the client which will hopefully point at what the application is trying to do when it crahses out. Generally I wouldnt do this but most clients are willing to help you if it means getting their system back up and running.
Just for information, I remember having a problem on a Novell network with one of our applications. I cant remember the detail but it was to do with a Novell add on for mapping network drives. When our main app ran it was fine but if it launched any of the other apps they crashed because the network drive had been lost, it was a configuration setting of this add on product.
I havent given you much to go on, but let me know if I can be any further assistance.
