For example, I have received private questions, by e-mail,

Feel ree to modify the boiler plate repsonse I posted in this thread and use it to reply to them in the future < s >.

It is amazing how many unsolicited e-mails Andy and I get asking for free consulting advice. Some of them, if they are e-mails about a bug in some example in one of the books, we give immediate attention. But even some of these are bogus.

My favorite example is an e-mail Andy got about some code he had written for the first book. The sender insisted that the code did not work. Andy droppped everything, downloaded the stuff from Whil's web site and ran it. Everything was fine. He sent a response saying that everything appeared to be OK and then got this message:

"Oh, well you probably don't have the changes I made to it."

Go figure < vbg >.
