Hey Craig,

You sound so MS... are you drawing a check now? :-) Rumors in big-transaction NYC - VFP 10 is a go!

>As many have pointed out, Sedna is in the works. However, it probably won't be VFP 10. There are few updates to the core product. Instead, Sedna is geared to DLLs to allow additional .Net interop, support for WinFx, and updates to external tools written in VFP.

>>Even-though I purchased the vfp9 upgrade as soon as it came out, we haven't yet upgraded our user-base with the runtime.
>>
>>I just love the stability of vfp8. We have already implemented the handful of work arounds for some of the vfp8's "unexpected" behavior (don't want to call them bugs) during the past few years. So, The thing works like a clock!! I am Really pleased.
>>
>>I read somewhere;
>>"With the announcement of the vfp roadmap, Microsoft is officially declaring the vfp dead ! A .NET interop extension and longhorn deployment is all we have for the future of vfp. If they are planning on releasing VFP10 it would be in 2008 or 2009 at the earliest. With the last full version released in 2004 and one interop patch in 2007, you can see that 5 YEARS is an eternity in tech-years."
>>
>>I am considering that IF we are already at the end of the product upgrade, and the current version of vfp9 is indeed the final version ever, then the sooner we upgrade everything to the final version, and deal with the new "unexpected stuff", the better. Lets just get it over with.
>>
>>This is why I am wondering whether or not Microsoft is still planning to release the vfp10 ? (is there an official statement?), and of so;
>>- Will it really be around 2010 ?!,and finally;
>>- Any rumors on what they are working on (feature list) ?! (ha ha!)
>>
>>The good news is; there is nothing we HAVE to have right now, that VFP8 can't provide..
>>
>>Comments would be appreciated.
