>But the new VS DataEnvironment is *sweet*...As an incremental update, VB6 is an *appetizer* with the *side dishes* represented by DE and other VS-oriented stuff. I mean, they couldn't do OOP without "fileting" the VB environment...VB6 represents a bit of "dressing" for a tool that hasn't yet seen it's *salad* days...

Bet you thought I was going to bail. Naw, I got this right as I was leaving for the day. As a result, I've had plenty of time to *cook* up a response. I certainly hope that Michel doesn't get *boiling* mad at me, and that my brain doesn't *fry*. I'm sure that some people are going to want me *burned* at the *steak*, or will at least *roast* me pretty good. I'm not going to say that I won't steal (or *poach*, if you will) someone else's material.

I just don't want to see us end up with *egg* on on faces. Certainly, I make my living with VFP, and I get paid more than *peanuts*. Speaking of which, I won't try to cover everything here (*soup to nuts*, so to speak). I'll probably leave out the stuff that doesn't mean *beans* to me.

Naturally, the VB folks are going to complain. You think they'll go like *lambs* to (what they perceive to be) the slaughter. As they get closer to being a true OOP language, they'll find that the learning curve ain't flat as a *flounder*. From my *perch*, I think we'll hear them squealing like stuck *pigs*. Of course, it's a threat to what brings home their *bacon*. You may think me as sometwhat of a *ham* for saying this, but it from my *bird's* eye view. Of course, some will try to *wing* it, but find that they don't have a *leg* to stand on. Naturally, I expect some will think that they have a *bone to pick* with MS, and from their point of view, they won't be happy as a *clam*. Certainly, all the *mussel* that they can *mustard* (oh that's bad) up will be required to make anyone hear them. Of course, it'll come off as a *wine*, and they're arguements won't hold *water*, but they'll milk it for all they can, talking about it before *tea* time, and between *serves* at tennis.

Oh, I've got more, but I think this will suffice (You didn't expect me just to *fork* my title over, did you?).
George
