if you run a .spr under VFPs8 & 9 with _screen.themes = .t. the form will blank when the mouse first hovers over a @GET object and controls will only reappear when the mouse hovers over them again.

I don't know why but

_screen.activeform.lockscreen = .t.
_screen.activeform.lockscreen = .f.

immediately before the READ prevents this from happening. I forget where i got this from now. Lee Mitchell on the microsoft newsgroups or MSDN i'd guess.
