If you intend to create disks that only update a prior version, then when you create your distribution directory, only place the EXE in the tree. That way the disks don't update your data files. If you need to have dual purpose disks, that either upgrade or update depending on whether the user has the data files, you could write a post-setup exe. It could use file() to check if data files were installed previously. If they were do nothing. If they were not then copy a set of blank data files from a subdirectory you placed in the distribution tree like \blankdata or something. When you run the setup wizard, list this checking program as your post setup executable.
