Yes, in order to avoid a fan, we have to go with two cards. When one card supports more than two adapters, a fan is required. But, in my situation I was not able to consider that approach because I had no room left in the motherboard. The cost was not an issue as Matrox would have taken the card back and would have sent me two dual head for about the same cost. But, IAC, my supplier decided to try putting a high quality fan instead of the one builtin and there is no more noice coming from that video card now. The fan cost 19.95$ CAD.

So, for now, working with the triple head card is a go but that one cannot support desktop mode. This is not really a big factor. But, for my next PC, I will switch to a triple head which supports the desktop mode. By that time, those cards will be more advanced and won't consume that much of the CPU such as is the case right now.
