I started with SQL set to WINDOWS AUTHENTICATION

then changed it to Windows AND SQL authenticaation and YES restarted the SERVER by re Booting the computer

i have also stopped and started the service

I dont think that is the problem because i can know see both authentication services
and can get into both

i log on the Windows authentication and that works but when I try SQL Authentication it

come up with
Login failed for user 'sa' REASON The account is disabled Microsoft SQL Error 18470
Knowledge base has no help on this error

I am wondering
Do i need to stop ALL the services or just SQL SERVER
****
Now thats interesting
Ive just stopped SQL Sever and restarted it
Logged on to SQL using SQL Management Studio and SQL Authentication
and it comes up with the following message
****
A connection was succesfully established with the server but then an error occured during the login process No Process is on the other end of the pipe

Looks like the reason the account is disabled is that I had previously logged on iusing windows authentication and do this disabled the SQL Authentication!!

Maybe the real problem is between the ***

Any ideas

Many thanks

Richard
