There will be no VFP 10. Even Helen Keller would be able to see that by now. When Sedan was announced this forum was full of these same questions. All of which the MS Folks (particularly Ken) side stepped with a speed and grace that would have made Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers green with envy. The fact is no one from MS will confirm that they haven’t decided to round file Foxpro. I’d bet cash money that MS has already decided that Sedna is the End of the Line (had meetings sent memos.. the parties over).
As far as sticking with the Foxpro once MS finally announces its demise, I want to see someone tell there client that there designing there new application in the language that MS just dropped (if they can get through the whole thing with a straight face). By the time that Sedna is released most clients will have enough hardware to run a dotnet app.
You can write dotnet applications for small clients, I’ve written small applications with dotnet and MM just as fast as other Foxpro projects I’ve worked on.
If you haven’t started augmenting your skills with something other than Foxpro this would be a good time to start . If you follow the advise of some of the sycophants you may find youself spending more time looking for work than working.
