Is there a way to detect whether a menu bar was selected via the mouse or via a shortcut key? Likewise, is it possible to determine whether a command button's click event was triggered via a mouse click or shortcut key?

The reason I'm asking this question is that I would like to 'instrument' a prototype I'm building and log how users interface with the system. In particular, which 'actions' are frequently invoked via the keyboard vs. mouse or button clicks.
